Network Redundancy

Of all of the computer systems in place the network it is the one that brings down the most when it fails. While it is more reliable than many others if installed redundantly, it connects everything and therefore can interrupt the use of everything. Without the network there is no e-mail, internet, file servers, databases, or network applications until it is fixed. The telephones may also be dependent on the network if there is VoIP in use. If the phones have their own cabling then all of the redundancy needed for data communications applies to the phone systems as well.
